Ms. Gressette is making wonderful connections across math, reading, writing and art. In third grade students were working on radial symmetry tiles. What a great example of learning across the curriculum.

What a show of support!!!
Students at Oakland Elementary School lined the bus ramp to send off their fellow students to their Special Olympics Bowling event.
“The Special Olympics is a chance for our students to compete in a sport they are capable of doing. The parents are allowed to come, and they see that their children can do more than maybe they think they could do," said OES Special Education Teacher Stephanie Gosnell.
Special needs students from across District 2 joined the OES All Stars on lanes for a great time full of smiles and laughter.
“Our school is very supportive and they cheer us on," Gosnell said. "They are so excited to have us here, and make us feel included, and going to the Special Olympics is a way for our students to get out into the world, do some fun things, and see what they can accomplish on their own." #D2isFamily
