Principal's Message

A Message from our Principal

I believe it is our job to prepare students to be 21st century learners. It is essential that we provide them with rigorous learning opportunities so they are prepared academically for their future. It is also imperative that we give them chances to be creative, work collaboratively, and build lifeMcKillop Family skills. I also believe that school safety is of utmost importance. I want every child to feel loved, cared for, and safe while they are at school. My vision is to inspire lifelong learning which ensures that each student is healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged.

I am a daughter, wife, and mother. I have an amazing family—my husband, Brandon, works at USC Upstate. My son, Bennett, is 18 and will be a freshman at SMC in the fall of 2020. My daughter, Lilli, is 14 and will be a freshman at Boiling Springs.  We attend New Beginnings United Methodist in Boiling Springs and we enjoy going to the beach, watching movies, and playing games together. I love to read! My favorite types of books are mysteries and beach themed novels.

I have been in education for 18 years, serving as an administrator for 7 of those years. I have had many experiences in a variety of roles which have shaped me into the educator that I am today. The most important thing that I have learned is how important it is to build a strong home to school relationship with students and their families. This provides the support that all students need and helps them to know that every adult in their life is invested in them and their success. I look forward to working together with you to strengthen our students’ future!
